Location: London Start Date: March 2018 Contract: Initially 2 Months – Potential for a Lengthy Extension

A leading and rapidly growing television production company are looking for a Senior Development Producer to join the team. The company predominantly focus on factual entertainment and entertainment, and they have made prime-time and well-known programmes for BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, ITV, ITV2, Channel 4, Sky One and TLC.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Senior Development Producer is responsible for creating original programmes and progressing these through to commission. They will constantly be developing new ideas, mainly across but not limited to factual entertainment and entertainment, and will be looking after several projects at the same time.

They will play an active role in brainstorming, treatment writing, conducting thorough research and gaining access. They will also develop and deliver pitches to the broadcasters. Additionally, the Senior Development Producer will have the opportunity to produce various taster tapes.

The successful candidate will have thorough experience developing factual entertainment and entertainment programmes for the main UK broadcasters, and will have been influential in successful commissions. They will also hold at least two years’ experience at producer level and be able to work independently and lead development projects.

Experience coming up with fresh ideas, both independently and in brainstorms, and writing a high volume of treatments is essential. It is an advantage, but not essential, if they have relationships with Commissioning Editors and experience editing taster tapes.
