About the Organisation

Real SFX are a double BAFTA Craft and double BAFTA Cymru Award winning company providing high quality special effects to the TV and Film industry. Using state-of-the-art techniques and equipment, we specialise in atmospheric, fire, explosives, mechanical rigs, model making and soft props.

Job Description

They will be a practical person with an interest in engineering, mechanics and electrics.

They would need to be versatile and innovative, have an aptitude to learn and have the ability to think on their feet and problem solve.

They would need to have an interest in learning a range of advanced workshop skills such as welding and want to have the opportunity to use a variety of machines to create effects such as wind, rain, snow and fire and learn the safe use of pyrotechnics.

They will need to be very aware of Health and Safety and be willing to listen and learn from experienced technicians.

  • Can-do attitude

Desirable but not Essential Skills

  • A driving licence would be an advantage in this role

Framework

Whilst working for Real SFX you will be completing a 12-month Level 3 Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media.

Wage

The exact salary for this role is TBC. The minimum an apprentice will receive is the National Minimum Apprentice Allowance, which is £3.30 per hour.
