TV Reporter / Video Journalist

A full-time journalism job at That's Solent in Portsmouth
Posted 30 April 2017, 5.48pm edt

Do you want to work with some of the best people in TV? Our Station Editor was nominated last year for Professional of the Year in the regional Venus Awards and shortlisted for best Video Journalist in the RTS South Awards 2017.

If you want to work with one of the best teams in TV – and cover a fabulous news patch – then you want to apply to join That’s Solent based on the beautiful south coast.

That’s Solent provides the latest news and information for Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight on Freeview channel 7.

You will be a multi-skilled journalist seeking to make a big name for yourself in a pioneering local TV station before moving your career onto the national stage.

This isn’t your standard 9 to 5. You will setup, shoot and edit your own packages and help write and produce the station's daily news magazine shows. There may also be opportunities for the right candidates to present on-screen.

This is a rare opportunity for exceptional candidates to gain significant experience in TV reporting and presenting. That's Solent has, in common with all That’s TV channels, also entered into a contract to share some of its news footage with BBC TV and Radio.

That's Solent is seeking ambitious journalists who will bin the press releases and go out and find their own challenging news stories and features.

This job closed on 19 May, 2017 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
