Video Journalist / TV Reporter

A full-time programming job at That's York - Local TV for York in York
Posted 1 October 2016, 6.36pm edt

That's York is the brand new TV channel for York coming soon on Freeview channel 7 and Virgin Media channel 159 in York and the surrounding area. The station is an affiliate of the That's TV group which controls 10 of the new city TV licences awarded by Ofcom.

That's York is now recruiting for talented Video Journalists to deliver news reports and features in the grand old city of York - recently voted the most beautiful city in the UK and No.1 for the city British people would choose to move to.

You will be an important part of the core team producing the news content for the station every day, reporting on the good, the bad and the ugly of local life.

Expect to be busy. You will setup, shoot and edit your own reports and help write and produce the station's news magazine shows. There will also be opportunities for many That's York reporters to present on-screen.

This is a rare opportunity for exceptional candidates to gain significant experience in TV reporting and presenting. That's York will, in common with most other city TV channels, also enter into a contract to share its news footage with the BBC so many of your best stories are likely to end up being used on BBC regional news.

That's York is seeking driven journalists who don't just report the most obvious - but wish to make a big impact on York - and their careers - by breaking original stories for a great city, unearthing and telling hard news and compelling human-interest stories.

This job closed on 27 October, 2016 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
