No further action against Doctor Who lizard-lesbian snog - says Ofcom
Doctor Who’s season eight opener starring Peter Capaldi in the role for the first time saw Ofcom receive six complaints after two married females - albeit one part-lizard - kissed.
Madame Vestra and Jenny
The watchdog said that the kissing scene between Madame Vastra, a humanoid lizard and her human wife, Jenny Flint, shown during the episode ‘Deep Breath’ did not break any broadcasting rules.
Ofcom said: “Having assessed the complaints, we can confirm that they do not raise issues warranting further investigation.
“Our rules do not discriminate between scenes involving opposite sex and same sex couples.”
It added that some of the complaints claimed that the scene was "gratuitous" and "unnecessary".
The couple are reoccurring characters in the series however the characters' gay relationship was kept under wraps.
Some Twitter users questioned the priorities of the six individuals who complained.
Six complaints to Ofcom about the lesbian kiss in Doctor Who but none about organ-snatching aliens? *slow clap for those parents*

The scene showed Doctor Who's first ever lesbian kiss in the whole of its five decades of broadcasting.
The opening episode generated a massive 135,000 tweets during its 80 minute slot - most of which praised the Doctor’s return outing.
Doctor Who, which saw over seven million viewers in the UK, continues on Saturday on BBC One at 7:30 pm.
