The Nottingham Building Society has signed a 16-month sponsorship deal with the Sam & Amy breakfast show on Gem 106, which is run by the commercial radio group, Orion Media.

The six-figure deal sees the building society lending its name and promoting its range of services on the East Midlands weekday show, which attracts the highest breakfast commercial radio audience share across the region*.

Orion Media Commercial Director, Adrian Serle, said: “We're proud to be working with the Nottingham Building Society, as it's a fitting brand for a show which has enjoyed its most successful year ever, receiving national acclaim and audience recognition.”

Sam & Amy, who have presented the breakfast show for the last eight years, were named UK Music Radio Personalities of the Year at the 2014 Radio Academy Awards.

Serle added: “It's also another example of how our clients are recognising Orion Media as one of the leaders in powerful brand integration across our East and West Midlands footprints, where we deliver more 25-44 year-olds than any other radio brands.”

Orion Media’s national advertising sales for all its Midlands radio brands has been managed by Bauer Media since July. The sponsorship deal with the Nottingham Building Society, negotiated by Orion, will launch later this month (August).

Simon Taylor, Chief Operating Officer at Nottingham Building Society, said: “Over the last two years, we've really grown to value the way in which Gem 106 can integrate our messages within its programming.”

Taylor added: “This new opportunity will increase awareness of our brand and promote the range of business services we offer from mortgages to insurance through to our community projects.”

The Nottingham is an award-winning regional building society operating across the UK with branches throughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. Following the acquisition in January 2013 of estate agents Harrison Murray it now also operates in Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

The Nottingham offers a broad range of building society services such as mortgages and savings as well as independent financial planning, mortgage advice and local estate agency services.
