The Radio Academy's yearly Radio Festival have released more speaker names.

Kate Lawler will be talking to Ministry of Sound Managing Director, Dave Dollimore, discussing whether radio is still the most effective means of breaking an artist.

The Festival will also be hearing from some of this year's Radio Academy Awards Gold winners. Bob Shennan, Controller of Radio 2, will explain why he thinks it was named ‘UK Station of the Year’, what makes the station special and how it continues to develop, while Iain Lee will talk about his transition from late-night talk show to Breakfast host, and share his recipe for success.

Matt Brittin, Vice President of Google Northern & Central Europe, will look at the digital landscape and how radio must evolve to meet audiences’ needs.

In this year’s Social Media session, acclaimed blogger Fleur de Force will deliver her verdict on how to reach a socially-engaged audience, while Guiseppe De Cristofano, Head of Digital BPI, will reveal how this year’s BRIT Awards became the most tweeted about TV show.

Tickets are on sale at the Radio Academy website at £549 for members, with concessions available.

The event happens in mid-October, after the radio ideas conference Next Radio, which is on September 8.
