Ronan O'Gara: "I'd take a coaching position at Leinster"

The former Ireland international, who is an assistant coach at Racing Metro, said that he had come around to the idea after retirement.

"Obviously,  I would take up a job at Leinster. I think anyone who's pretty serious about their rugby would want to work with their back-line." he said.

"Of course I wouldn't have said that a few years ago. It's the same kind of rivalry with Manchester United and Liverpool."

O'Gara also spoke about the end of his career which saw him miss out to Jonathan Sexton.

The former fly-half said he was disappointed when former boss Declan Kidney made the decision to replace him.

"I was hurting obviously [when replaced]. When you mess up all you want is an opportunity to come back, even if you mess up again. It gives you a chance to get back to where you were," O'Gara said.

"There's always unbelievable players coming up through the system but you've to think about who's gone before."

"It is no secret that myself and Deccie had an up and down relationship at the time. I have to say had a lot of respect for him.

"Sometimes he got frustrated, I got frustrated but it was all for the team. We're away from that now. It's just that pressure at that level of sport."
