Kick start your career in women’s media and gain a wealth of writing experience with a paid internship at Yours magazine.

Yours magazine, a bestselling fortnightly magazine for mature women, is looking for a bright and passionate would-be journalist with plenty of common sense, the ability to multi-task and the confidence to get stuck in to help keep our busy office running smoothly.

This is the perfect first step for a career in women’s magazines and you will be an important part of the Yours team. As well as carrying out daily admin tasks you will be given lots of opportunity to write and have your work published both online and in the magazine.

You’ll receive on-the-job training and will become an expert in web writing, optimisation, SEO and best practice social media. You’ll attend regular web meetings and with the guidance of the web editor you will generate new ideas to drive traffic to yours.co.uk and increase its commercial revenue.

You will also be involved in liaising with PRs, our readers, researching stories, attending meetings, helping out on shoots and developing ideas for both the magazine and website.

This is a paid position and is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is determined to succeed in the world of women’s media. A journalism qualification isn’t essential but you will need to have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, an unflappable manner, great attention to detail, be full of creativity and be keen to learn. Previous work experience on women’s mags, websites or blogs is a bonus but not a necessity.

This job closed on 1 September, 2017 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
