Top-selling magazines Your Horse and Practical Fishkeeping need a new Production Editor.

What is the job?The Hobbies & Food publishing hub, which produces 12 market-leading magazine brands – including Practical Photography, Trail, Country Walking and Food to Love – is looking for a new production editor. The successful candidate will be working as part of two lively and friendly editorial teams, and will enjoy overall production responsibility for Your Horse and Practical Fishkeeping.

Who are we after?We’re looking for an experienced, quality-driven production professional who can spot a typo a mile off, is organised to a fault and doesn’t take any shoddy excuses from creative types! Setting deadlines and managing efficient copy flow will be second nature, crafting features into top quality, mistake-free editorial pages a breeze, and writing lively, attractive headlines and standfirsts a walk in the park.

What other skills are needed?The right person for this role will be an experienced production editor with at least five years’ magazine experience, and must have a sound working knowledge of InDesign. Knowledge of content management systems is desirable, but not essential.

An interest in and knowledge of horses and/or fishkeeping is not essential but would be useful. Fantastic communication skills, tenacity and a great sense of humour go without saying!This is a full-time job, working across the two magazines, based in Peterborough.
