The Role: Islam Channel Ltd is seeking a passionate Broadcast IT Engineer to support on key projects and deliver to the performance standards required. The successful candidate will be results driven and thrive in a busy, fast paced environment whilst ensuring IT and telecommunications infrastructure support is delivered to a high standard and helpdesk support is provided to all staff. Flexibility is a key requirement and the successful candidate will be required to work out of usual hours as and when required to meet business needs in a 24/7 environment.
The successful candidate: Possess previous employment/work experience in a similar capacity and ideally within the media television broadcast industry Previous IT helpdesk experience a distinct advantage Basic working knowledge/experience with Linux ( RedHat / CentOS ) with knowledge of Zimbra Basic working knowledge or experience of Cisco with experience in TCP/IP networking, security and firewalls configurations ( Dell Sonic Wall / Cisco ASA) Cisco CCNA certification is a distinct advantage Mastering Windows 2003 R2/Windows 2008 R2 /Windows 2012 R2 Storage Mastering Active Directory/File Sharing/Exchange mail server /Network printer Strong knowledge of Windows 7 Pro/Windows 8 / MS Office suite(2007/2010) Basic knowledge/experience in installation, configuring and maintenance of Mac OSX Workstations: Maverick and later OS versions and editing suites like FCP and Adobe Premier. Mastering Kaspersky Lab centre Antivirus Windows based play-out and studio automation systems with redundancy plus their client machines able to play-out 4 channels simultaneously operational 24/7. Be able to evaluate and procure all IT related products and services through appropriate vendors Good communication skills, quick learner, responsible and able to support the IT Manager and take lead/accountability as and when required on key projects Liaise with other department heads to accommodate their requirements within constraints. General knowledge of broadcast systems and past experience with Vector box play - out system would be an advantage
