Summary of Role:

Made Television is looking for a multi-skilled production journalist to work on a variety of shows for Made in Cardiff TV. The role will include planning, producing, filming, editing and possibly presenting on a variety of projects. The successful candidate must have a vibrant, energetic approach to content creation. They must be a fast worker and understand the time constraints of working in a Local TV production room, and be able to demonstrate the ability to work well in a team. Technical skills are a must and the candidate is expected to have a good knowledge of filming techniques, editing systems and live gallery operation.

Background Information:

Made Television operates four local TV licenses in the UK – Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, and Tyne & Wear with a fifth channel, Made in Teesside, set to launch in Summer 2016.

The channels broadcast 24/7 local news, sport, current affairs and factual lifestyle programming aimed at a local audience. Since launching, the channels have a monthly reach of almost 2 million individuals.

Key Requirements/Responsibilities:

-Must have a broadcast journalism qualification or equivalent 3 years’ experience in broadcast television -Must know and be competent at non-linear editing systems, preferably a knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro -Preferably be experienced in TV gallery operations and will be trained on every role in a gallery control area -Must have knowledge of TV cameras, studio equipment and a willingness to learn operations -Must have knowledge and experience of operating small VJ cameras -Must be able to drive and have a full clean UK license -Must be organised and work well in a team -Must show initiative when finding stories, features or elements for lifestyle/factual programming -Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the production process
