Islam Channel Urdu is seeking a passionate Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer to work across multiple platforms for broadcast media and TV commercials. The ideal candidate will be results driven and thrive in a busy, fast paced environment whilst working on interesting and varied projects to edit and motion design content to a high specification standard. Strong working knowledge of edit and design software such as Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe Creative Suite is essential as well as the ability to read, write and understand the Urdu language. Responsibilities

  • Ability read, write and understand Urdu language and write scripts
  • Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
  • Take a brief to grasp production team’s needs and specifications
  • Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity
  • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
  • Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
  • Create rough and final cuts
  • Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of entire process
  • Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency. Requirements
  • Current and valid right to work in the UK status
  • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Final Cut, Adobe Premiere or Avid Media Composer, Light work, After Effects)
  • Proven working experience in video editing
  • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, continuity etc
  • Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills
