Facts and stats

News Broadcasting is a radio broadcasting company with local and national stations across the United Kingdom and Ireland. It's owned by News Corp, who bought the company for £220m in June 2016. The company is operated as a sub-brand of News Corp's British newspaper publisher News UK.

The Wireless Group was founded by former Sun editor Kelvin Mackenzie, and purchased local radio companies The Radio Partnership in 1999 and Forever Broadcasting in 2004. It was purchased by television operator UTV Media in 2005, and was known as UTV Media until 2016, when ITV purchased UTV's television franchise in Northern Ireland.

The company rebranded as Wireless in 2018 and News Broadcasting in 2023.
