Chris Uhlmann
Chris Uhlmann worked at the ABC since 1998, working for ABC Radio Canberra, host of AM, and co-host of 7.30, before becoming Political Editor for the broadcaster.
He moved to Nine in September 2017, with, he said, "a profound sense of gratitude", replacing Laurie Oakes.
He stood as a political candidate and staffer with a conservative independent in the ACT legislative assembly, and is married to the Labour MP for Canberra, Gai Brodtmann. In 2016, he erroneously linked the South Australian power blackout to the state’s use of renewable energy.
On Twitter, he describes himself as: “Political editor Nine News. Co-author of The Marmalade Files, The Mandarin Code and Shadow Game now adapted as a Foxtel mini-series, Secret City.”
