Born and raised in India, Shabnam's fluency in both Hindi and English has been one of her biggest strengths, appealing to listeners young and old. Her love of films and music, poetry and writing as well as her astounding knowledge of Indian culture and films add an edge to her presentation, effortlessly drawing her listener into a world that begins with Bollywood but travels far beyond, in course of three hours, picking up interesting facts and lists and reviews and interviews and more - it's the full package She stamps her own personality on the show and is best loved for her funny, witty, often irreverent yet always honest ( occasionally poignant ) take on the films and stars that make up modern day Bollywood. Shabnam's passion for entertainment shines through and her ability to weave together relevant and interesting stories from her own life as a proud British Asian makes for great listening! The show dips in and out of some of Bollywood's biggest tunes, reflecting the changing face of Indian Cinema and the last hour ( 11AM-12NOON ) invites listeners from up and down the country to chip in - with messages, requests, comments and ideas.
