On 2024-05-18 14:39:09 Martin Phillp changed abstract to Kool FM is an electronic dance music digital radio station playing Jungle and Drum & Bass.
The station originally launched in November 1991 as a pirate radio station based in East London which was the UK's leading radio station for the genre which continued until 2011 when it became an internet radio station rebranded as Kool London.
On January 1st 2023, Kool London closed under the previous management and was acquired by community of interest station Rinse FM who relaunched the station as Kool FM in April 2023 utilising 160 DJs and MCs, many from the original station.
August 2023 saw Kool FM return to linear radio on DAB+ on the Trial London multiplex.’ for Kool FM
