Capital FM’s breakfast show with Des and Jennie have scooped Best Radio Show at the Scottish Comedy Awards in Glasgow.

Voted by more than two hundred Scottish comedians, promoters, producers and journalists, Des and Jennie's show beat three BBC Radio Scotland programmes.

James Maguire, Capital FM Scotland Programme Controller, said: “We are thrilled to have won Best Radio Show at the Scottish Comedy Awards. We always strive to ensure we provide our listeners with the best possible wakeup call every morning across Central Scotland and this award, voted by our comedy & radio industry peers, means we must be doing something right.”

Des Clarke, who is Capital FM breakfast presenter and describes himself on Twitter as a stand-up comedian, said: “This show is all about the listeners. We just have a laugh every morning and we are delighted they love what we do!”

Des and Jennie's show began in early 2011; it's broadcast from Pacific Quay in Glasgow which is also the home of BBC Scotland and STV. The SECC is close by, too. That isn't funny, but we thought you'd appreciate the extra information.
