Southern Cross Austereo, Australia's largest commercial radio group, has relaunched one of their DAB+ digital radio services as "MORE Digital".
The station's previous incarnation was LoveLand Radio, which broadcast music from the 80s, 90s and 00s; MORE Digital promises a more focused offer of 80s and 90s music, including the internationally-syndicated Kim Wilde 80s Show.
Australian radio broadcasters are given a fixed slice of bandwidth on each DAB+ multiplex, and many have used this spectrum to launch new stations. DAB+ in Australia has a roughly similar listenership to the UK, at around 28% of total radio listening. It's available in the capital cities only.
The Kim Wilde 80s Show is produced in the UK by Francis Currie Consulting and Paul Hollins's Blue Revolution, and airs on stations across the world including Germany, the UK and Ireland.

Kim Wilde said, "I’m thrilled to be working with MORE Digital and I look forward to chatting to all my Australian friends playing some of my favourite 80s songs…”
MORE Digital will feature all the 80s music stars including Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Michael Jackson, Roxette, George Michael, Mariah Carey, Backstreet Boys, Savage Garden and Britney Spears.
So don those legwarmers, tease up your hair and crack open a can of Tab…
MORE Digital launched on Friday, 22 May on DAB+ Digital Radio in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, via the MORE Digital app and at www.givememore.com.au
SCA Digital Radio Content Director Jaime Chaux said, “80s and 90s pop is so good.. so many stars came from this era, influencing all the pop sounds of today. But amazingly, it’s hard to hear these songs on FM radio anymore. MORE Digital fills that gap. We can’t wait to get these songs back on-air and with Kim Wilde on board!”
