A full-time journalism job at Minster FM in York
Posted 27 July 2016, 6.25am edt

Minster FM is looking for a new Breakfast Journalist

Working on weekday mornings you will be the voice of news in North Yorkshire for a huge audience both on air and on line.

You'll be someone who sounds confident on the radio and who knows how to make great content for our web and social media feeds.

We like to be first with breaking news so you will need to know how to keep across the Twitter and Facebook feeds as well how to build a network of contacts in the area.

You will be good at spotting the potential of the smallest piece of information and know how to turn it into a story that gets people talking. We understand our audience and know that all sorts of different things matter to them.

Our agenda is wide and varied and as a result we reach thousands of people each week.

Minster FM is a service that is hungry for good audio, interesting video and eye catching pictures. It's a very challenging patch to work in and we need someone who really wants to be part of that patch.

We don't just hunt out the news, it often comes to us through tip offs. We'd like to build on that so you need to get to know people if you don't already.

YOU

Confident with the way the law affects broadcasting

Have some experience or understanding of the way a radio newsroom works

Potential to be a great broadcaster

Video skills.

Full of ideas.

As part of the UKRD group, Minster FM is an equal opportunities employer and believes in its people. You'll receive a competitive salary and ongoing training and development. To apply, please send a demo and CV with your covering letter to David Dunning, News Editor David.Dunning@minsterfm.com or if you want to say hello first and have a chat 01904 486598.
