Your role: As a Broadcast Assistant on Times Radio, you will work for the programme producer and alongside the assistant producers to help originate story ideas and come up with suggestions for guests and treatments to create intelligent speech radio that is a compulsive and engaging listen.

Day to day you will:

Come up with news-based ideas for interviews and discussions

Help research and book guests

Take on other production tasks as required for the show

Keep across audience interaction during the show

Help turn around the best news lines for digital and external impact

Come up with ideas for future shows

What we’re looking for from you:

A budding journalist who is obsessed by the news and has got fresh ideas for speech radio

A passion for radio production and an ear for great audio

A creative mind and ability to think differently

Excellent knowledge of the current news environment and great suggestions for suitable guests

You are happy in a fast-paced environments and are able to work quickly in small teams

A desire to learn
