Broadcast Engineer

A full-time engineering job at Mix96 in Aylesbury
Posted 15 September 2017, 5.05am edt

If you know how to get back on air when your playout system fails, can make the right audio come out of the right bits of a mixing desk and do more than “turn it off and back on again” when your PC plays up, we’d love to talk to you!

The successful engineer will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the technology in various radio stations managed by UKRD Group, predominantly support of Mix 96 in Aylesbury, KL.FM in Kings Lynn and Spirit FM in Chichester. You’ll also be able to get your hands dirty in other Group offices and we will provide you with a car, laptop and mobile phone.

Your core duties will be broadcast IT, office IT and engineering, as well as being part of the UKRD out of hours support rota providing 24hr technical cover for business critical systems across the whole group. Where there may be gaps in your knowledge we have a widely skilled existing team who will support you throughout and complement your determination with their experience ensuring you become a valuable member of our team.

You will report to the Managing Director of the station at which you are based, with a dotted line report to the Head of Broadcast Technology, who is responsible for Group IT policy and strategy. You will be working closely alongside our existing Technology team. There may be times where periods working away are required to complete some project work.

You should have an understanding of radio and its associated technologies, ideally playout systems, Windows desktop & server and IP networking. If you enjoy working with friendly, professional people with a bit of fun thrown in, please get in touch.

This job closed on 2 October, 2017 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
