Job Introduction: Kingdom FM, Fife’s number one radio station, is looking for two freelance Broadcast Journalists. Great local radio is at the core of everything we do and that includes live, local and engaging news and sport coverage.

Role Responsibility: You will report to the News Editor and will be based at Haig House, Markinch. The successful candidates will do both newsreading and reporting shifts. Both shifts require forward planning, conducting interviews, editing audio and writing scripts. Ideally a prospective freelancer will be able to work all the different shifts in our rota. There are reporting shifts during the week and two newsreading shifts (mornings and afternoon). At the weekend, there is one day shift on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Ideal Candidate: You will have a proven track record generating exclusive stories while working at an experienced level in journalism. You will also possess a thorough knowledge of news and current affairs in Fife, Scotland, the UK, Europe and worldwide. Sound editorial judgement, sharp writing skills, sound legal and regulatory knowledge and the ability to get unique, local news and sport on air are essential. A great voice is also vital, while you must possess strong social media skills. Knowledge of Burli is desirable, a full driving licence is essential.
