Our radio stations include talkSPORT, the world's biggest sports radio station and global audio partner of the Premier League, alongside popular national digital stations talkSPORT 2, talkRADIO and Virgin Radio

This is an exciting time to be joining Wireless, with more and more exclusive sport coverage across the talkSPORT network, Chris Evans' return to Virgin and stars like Eamonn Holmes and Matthew Wright presenting on talkRADIO

Your role:

Working for the world’s biggest sports radio station, we are looking for an experienced broadcast journalist who can create engaging content for bulletins across talkSPORT and Virgin Radio.

The role will be based on the talkSPORT newsdesk and you will be working in our state of the art studios at News UK in London Bridge.

The job involves turning around copy to tight deadlines, responding quickly to breaking news and creating news lines and engaging audio clips from guests across our network.

What we’re looking for from you:

We are looking for people who are passionate about news, who can use their initiative to produce first-class stories and have an outstanding broadcasting voice. You will need a strong knowledge of current affairs and sport and be familiar with the talkSPORT audience. You will need:

A journalism qualification (NCTJ or Degree) – or equivalent Extensive experience of working on a radio/TV news desk - both reading live and pre-recorded bulletins and also reporting A strong broadcast voice and sharp writing skills Extensive knowledge of current affairs and sport An understanding of the modern multimedia radio studio and newsroom An understanding of Ofcom’s broadcasting guidelines and media law generally Confidence, assertiveness, and energy To consistently generate ideas and be creative Ability to work effectively in a hectic and fast-paced environment
