A full-time programming job at JACK Radio in Oxford
Posted 5 August 2019, 7.09am edt

Are you a dynamic, team-focused go-getter with an inspirational, can-do attitude?

Neither are we.

But if you’re a very good writer with an ear for comic timing and editing, take a look at this.

A job’s come up at JACK to make “content”, like the buzzword it is. It includes stuff like writing the silly bits between the songs and editing them in Audition, penning website copy, and editing images and videos for social media. It’s one of the most influential roles here - you’ll help mould the voice of JACK and have a chunky input in what goes on the radio and online. You'll shape the entertainment, information and brand silliness for most of the day.

We’d really like to chat if you’re good at writing entertainingly and authentically, maybe have some experience with Adobe software and definitely have a silly streak - and if you want to be surrounded by people who are the same. JACK tries to be honest, never takes things too seriously and always makes stuff through the lens of real life, not through the lens of how other radio stations have done things before. Everything's an open book.

JACK’s based in a shiny new building just outside Oxford. You’ll be part of a group of about 20 people who run JACKfm, JACK 2 Hits and JACK 3 & Chill in Oxfordshire, as well as Union JACK and JACK Radio nationally - and you’ll play a part writing and editing for them all.

If you bag the job, you’ll be here Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. We’ll get you oodles of support, a decent pay cheque, all the Adobe software and training you’d like, more creative freedom than you have time to do it all in, and a comfy chair. Previous radio experience isn't necessary - it's much better that you can write, create and make things in ways that haven't been tried before.

This job closed on 26 August, 2019 so we’re afraid you can no longer apply for this role.
