Your role: Executive Editor - talkSPORT

The Executive Editor will lead and inspire teams to develop and deliver the full range of talkSPORT programming for the talkSPORT Network, ensuring that it achieves the highest creative and editorial standards, delivering on time and on budget, with adherence to ofcom guidelines.

What we’re looking for from you:

The successful candidate will need to be experienced, innovative and able to bring new ideas to our output. Evidence will be sought of where you have significantly influenced the creative look and feel of programming and how this was achieved.

Working across a wide range of sports based programming at a senior level you must have excellent editorial judgement and knowledge of the target audience, their needs and expectations whilst also being prepared to look at bringing new audiences on board via multi-platform working.

You should have a real passion for football, have proven experience of working at high profile sporting events and have experience of directing and leading teams across a range of programming, both live and recorded.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate budgeting experience and have a thorough understanding of the costs associated with sports productions.

Experience of dealing with high profile presenters and pundits in highly pressurised environments is also expected.

The successful candidate must also demonstrate a wide knowledge of the sport broadcasting industry and football in particular.

Essential skills:

  • Extensive professional experience in high profile broadcaster or sports industry communications roles
  • Management skills include high-profile communications, strategic planning, budgeting and creative solutions.
  • Broadcast production experience in the sports industry
  • Demonstratable experience of managing budgets
