Right now we are recruiting for a new Head of Music to join our award winning radio team at Virgin Radio.
Purpose of Job
Working to the Programme Director, to take responsibility for scheduling Virgin Radio’s mainstream music output, and to assist with the day to day running of the station’s programme output.
- To schedule Virgin Radio’s mainstream music output
- To support the Programme Director to ensure that Virgin Radio Programming maintains the highest standards and reaches the largest possible percentage of the target audience
- To select new music tracks suitable for the target audience and manage relationships with record company representatives
- To ensure that music returns are provided to the copyright bodies in a timely manner
- To adhere to legal and Ofcom broadcast compliance matters
- To co-ordinate music research, analyse and respond as required
- To liaise with other Wireless Group departments to ensure the efficient use of editorial and broadcast resources
- To assist in devising sponsorship and promotions concepts which match the ethos of Virgin Radio programming and fulfill client objectives
- To attend Management and planning meetings as required
- To represent Virgin Radio at appropriate functions, as required
- To be aware of, and take responsibility for, Health and Safety and other Group policies within the Programming area
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Strong people skills and the ability to develop good working relationships with the presenters of Virgin Radio
- Hands on production skills including experience with live programmes.
- Creative and dynamic individual who can bring new ideas to the station
