Overall Purpose

Global has a rare opportunity for a Managing Editor to lead the world’s largest classical music brand. From captivating live radio, on-demand audio and spectacular concerts and events – this is one of the biggest jobs in broadcasting and a role for a creative leader who is passionate about both classical music and audio entertainment.

What you’ll be doing

As Managing Editor, you’ll be ultimately accountable for one of the UK’s largest commercial radio brands, Classic FM. Key to your role is developing a strategy to continue to grow Classic FM’s current position as a world leading content provider across its many platforms. You’ll develop and share a vision for a brand, utilising your creative flair to help set Classic FM apart whilst maintaining the brands welcoming touch that makes the genre accessible and relevant to all. As an experienced and credible leader, you’ll steer the future direction of the brand with your team and key stakeholders, taking everyone on the journey. You’ll be working with talent from a variety of disciplines and use your knowledge and understanding of their roles to bring out the best performance in everyone. Staying close to the detail is fundamental to your role. You’ll remain involved and responsible for output; securing the finer details to make every piece of content succeed today, whilst continually thinking about how you make things even better tomorrow. This is a rare opportunity to be an integral part of our senior programming team as we work to realise some big ambitions.
