UKRD’s Star Radio NE, has a unique opportunity for you to head up its thriving News team, due to our current head of news moving onto pastures new, after several hugely successful years in the North East.

We’re looking for an experienced journalist to bring passion, drive and creativity to move our news coverage onto the next level, in a highly competitive market place.

We take news seriously at Star NE, and believe our future depends upon creating great relevant, topical and engaging content, all part of a top performing news team.

Key tasks:

Managing the team on a day to day basis Producing great content – both on air and on line Generation of stories that are at the core of UKRD / Star Radio NE’s DNA Working with the Star Radio Academy and local colleges Innovate and create new ideas Qualifications and Experience:

At least 1 years’ experience as a journalist in broadcast, print or digital media NCTJ / Journalism qualification Strong judgement and editorial skills
