At Asian Star Radio we require a unique kind of individual, we are looking for a bright, bubbly on air personality to host our Drive Time Show Monday to Fridays 4pm to 7pm, with affiliated duties such as ensuring all programmes are covered, organising programming meetings, keeping the station website up to date (training is given on this) with relevant features that are changing every so often.

The individual must be fluent english speaker have a knowledge of the Asian Music which is preferable but not essential. As Asian Star Radio is a 24 hour Asian Service with an audience profile of 35-55 year old we will be looking for an individual who will be able to entertain, inform, educate and be conversant on a wide variety of topics for this age range. Interaction with listeners on the phone is a key part of the job and the ideal candidate will have the ability to speak with listeners on air in his or her most part of the show.

You will have the ability to produce and research your own show and run on air competitions daily. We see the Drive Time presenter as a senior role within the programming team and the Drive Time show as our flagship programme, so we will not be able to compromise with quality in terms of the person who will sail this ship. After being on air for 8 years with about 70 000 listeners per week we are the only Asian Radio service mainly dominating this area. Asian Star works closely with many groups including the local paper who are media partners. The Drive Time Show Presenter must also have the ability to carry out live on air interviews with influential and authorative figures on the show.

The show can be demanding and fast paced, however your desire to be a broadcaster to a great audience can be fulfilled within this role. We are looking for a passionate radio broadcaster with on air experience for this role and based within a commutable distance. The time spent on air is from 4pm to 7pm 5 days per week with occasional weekend programme, but the candidate must be prepared to be in the office 1 hour prior to going on air and then at least 1 hour after preparing and carrying out production work for the next day as well as ensuring all daytime programme promos etc are in order.
