OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB: Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and delivering sales campaigns across BANG Media and Entertainment APPLY: Info@wearebangradio.com

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to plan and coordinate sales activities. The focus of the role will be to maintain and develop sales of advertising and sponsorship in accordance with BANG Media and Entertainment’s development plan and to promote all BANG projects and support achievement of business objectives.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

SALES

  • Develop ideas and create offers for advertising and sponsorship on BANG Radio.
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by post, telephone, and personal visits.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned sales, individual account support and liaison with production staff.
  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant information to manager
  • Liaise, attend and support meetings

GENERAL To work with other members of staff as a team to ensure that the core services are covered

  • To work with the Sales and Sponsorship Manager on strategic planning and business development
  • To work in partnership with other agencies in order to meet development needs
  • To work to promote equal opportunities and equality of access
  • To actively promote BANG Radio, BANG Media & Entertainment and BANG Edutainment
  • At all times to work within BANG’s policies around Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Confidentiality, and all other employment and service policies and procedures.
  • To receive supervision from the Project Manager and attend training courses as required.
  • To attend and participate in team meetings and events. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
    1. A degree or professional equivalence in marketing, sales, customer care or other relevant area
    2. Understands the principles of marketing and advertising cost-effectiveness, including market sector targeting, product offer development, features-benefits-solutions selling, cost per response, cost per conversion, etc.
    3. Appreciation of the need for consistency within company's branding and marketing mix
    4. Ability to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g. revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc.
    5. Ability to negotiate, influence make sales at all levels, using a flexible range of approaches
    6. An enthusiasm for community and charitable work including its concept and aims.
    7. Experience of working in a pressurised work environment and effectively organising resources, in order to meet changing demands
    8. The ability to relate to people from a variety of backgrounds
    9. Facilitation skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
    10. Ability to organise and prioritise your own workload
    11. Sympathy with and understanding of the aims and objectives of BANG Edutainment and community radio
    12. Awareness, understanding and commitment to Equal Opportunities principles and working in a culturally appropriate manner.
    13. An ability to communicate effectively at a variety of different levels (person to person, written and online, with colleagues and the general public).
    14. Ability to prioritise workload.
    15. Willingness to work occasional unsocial hours. DESIRABLE CRITERIA
    16. Experience of working in the voluntary and/or public sector, small to medium sized organisations, community radio
    17. Experience in sales position within media setting
    18. Experience of tenders for production would also be useful
