Station Sound Coordinator (with presentation)

The British Forces broadcaster is looking for a talented and multi-skilled Station Sound Coordinator, with radio presentation skills, to join our brilliant team. If you’re excited about the prospect of being part of a station that makes a positive difference to the morale of our audience, then this is a unique opportunity!

Our station is a 70% music, 30% speech format. The audience is a community of interest (the UK armed services and their families) with a core demographic of 18 to 35. We have stations, locally and nationally in the UK as well as overseas.

The successful candidate will be a natural collaborator, able to identify and work with internal and external stakeholders and be capable of adapting their style when necessary. To apply you’ll need competent sound production skills and be capable of explaining what ‘good’ audio sounds like. You’ll be trained in music scheduling for multiple channels and time zones using Autotrack 4 software. These skills will be used in instances of holiday cover.

Day to day duties include the maintenance of the online programme content page, coordination of our free promotions service, liaising with stakeholders, maintenance of Station Sound audio services, loading and scheduling promotional copy and liaising with external audio production suppliers.

The ability to produce and present great live and VT radio programmes is essential.

You’ll be able to demonstrate that you’re resourceful, innovative, flexible and reliable with bags of creativity and enthusiasm, and will have an excellent command of written and spoken English.

This job is based at BFBS HQ near Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire.

Here’s your chance to become part of our future and develop your skills in a creative, non-commercial, ideas-led environment. There’ll be plenty of support to develop your talent to its fullest potential and to share your skills and experience with us. We have a generous leave scheme, a 6% employer contribution to a fully portable pension plan after 3 months, and a range of salary and other benefits we’d be happy to chat to you further about.

For the right candidate – this is a rare opportunity to contribute to the production of exceptional radio for an extraordinary audience.
