Web Developer Opportunity

Location: MediaCityUK, Salford

ReelWorld is an industry leader and innovator of radio jingles, radio imaging and audio branding services. We are looking for a web developer to join our team at MediaCityUK.

The successful candidate must be experienced developing complex JavaScript web applications for desktop and mobile that involve JavaScript technologies such as Angular, jQuery, and NodeJS. Experience working in a multi-developer environment on a large JavaScript code base is expected.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working on their own whilst playing an active remote role in our US based development team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of complex JavaScript web applications.
  • Contribute to the estimation, planning, and analysis of JavaScript web applications.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience expected.
  • Expertise in JavaScript development for IE, FF, Chrome, Safari for Desktop / mobile.
  • Expert in CSS3 (media queries) / HTML / DOM Manipulation.
  • jQuery, Angular (or similar), NodeJS and/or other JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience working with large JavaScript applications.
  • OOP principles / design patterns.
  • Performance optimization for JavaScript web applications.
  • Backend database experience with MySQL or Mongo.

Preferred Skills

  • CoffeeScript, Typescript, PHP
  • Build / testing tech such as GRUNT, continuos integration, xUnit
  • Well-rounded LAMP / MEAN / open source background.
  • AWS / Redhat experience.
  • Extremely detail-oriented self-starter with a “can do” attitude.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Diligent even when working alone for periods of time.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
