Communicorp UK has been announced as the official supporter for the I Love Student Radio Awards, to be held later this month.

The I Love Student Radio Awards, which are held annually at the National Student Radio Conference and will be supported by Communicorp UK for the next three years, aim to celebrate the commitment and contributions of individuals to student radio. The awards recognise those people and stations who go the extra mile, putting in time, effort and creativity behind the scenes, and whose commitment to student radio is unprecedented. The conference this year is being held in Exeter from 20th – 22nd April, with the awards taking place at the University of Exeter on 21st April.

One of Communicorp UK’s stations, Capital South Wales, will provide the award hosts in the form of popular Breakfast presenters, Matt, Polly and Geraint. As well as presenting the awards, they will no doubt share their stories of how they have grown their successful radio careers and be on hand to offer students industry advice.

Neil Sloan, Programme Controller at Capital South Wales, who is also a guest speaker at the conference said: “This is a great opportunity to meet the stars of the future and the awards do a fantastic job in recognising the hard work, effort and talent in student radio. We are excited about supporting the awards and being involved in developing and nurturing the industry’s future talent.”

Oliver Ing, Marketing Officer at Student Radio Association, said: "We’re all about students meeting the industry experts and recognising the talents of those individuals passionate about student radio and the I Love Student Radio Awards do just that.

“We are thrilled to have Communicorp UK supporting us. They are the newest and fourth largest commercial radio group in the UK and home to some of the most exciting brands in UK radio. Having them on board is a great opportunity for us to work together to help our members further their passions for radio."
