The breakfast hosts on Sydney's 2DAY FM, Dan and Maz, have launched what the station call "a 24 hour news channel via social media in order to explore their dual passions of investigative journalism and meteorology".
In reality, the station is posting relatively irregular video on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram, using the breakfast show team, helping them to promote upcoming guests. The output is relatively well-produced, and is a nice 'extra' for fans of the show.
In a press release, 2DAY told listeneners to "stay tuned to Dan & Maz's social media channels via @danandmaz to be in the know of the stories and issues that matter most – Make no mistake, this is 24 hours a day (except after 8.30pm because both Dan & Maz have to go to sleep early)."
An example tweet, including embedded video, is below.
Recent figures have seen 2DAYFM continue to slide in Sydney's ratings.
