Broadcast Journalist – Radio Wave
Radio Wave is an independent radio station that serves the Blackpool and Fylde coastal areas of Lancashire.
We are looking for an experienced journalist who can create engaging content both on air and online.
You will be based in our studios in Blackpool, but will also spend plenty of time out and about covering stories across the two counties.
We won't lie - it's a challenging role that will involve finding and developing stories in our local communities, working to tight deadlines, and responding calmly and quickly to breaking news.
No two days will ever be the same, and you will be working with an amazing group of people who really care about what they do.
In fact, one of our exclusive interviews received a nomination for last year's IRN Awards???
We are looking for someone as passionate as we are about news that can use their initiative to produce first-class stories.
You will need:
- A journalism qualification
- A full driving licence
- Great voice and writing skills
- Good working knowledge of media law
- Experience of working on a busy news desk - both reading bulletins and reporting
We offer a competitive salary and the chance to take your journalism career to the next level in an exciting and diverse local radio environment.
Apply by sending us a copy of your CV, a bulletin demo and statement, telling us why you should be part of our team.
Please note, only applications that include a demo will be considered
